レスキュージャパンは昨年、茨城にて洪水被害により調理の場を失った住民の方々のために、ランチのケータリングイベントを行いました。
このイベントはワインのチャリティープログラムを通じて資金を調達、実働チームを構成し、被災地常総市内で開催され、200人の参加者が集まる盛況なイベントになりました。
レスキュージャパンは毎年、日本国内で自然災害による被災者のために、何か1つ支援活動を行うことを責務としています。
それが発足当初からの私たちのミッションステートメントです。そしてそれは今日もなお私たちの任務となっています。
私たちは今年もまた東北での支援活動を計画しています。

震災から5年が経った今日でも、東北の復興にはまだたくさんの課題が残されていることを見れば、2011年の震災の規模がいかに甚大であったか、世界中の皆さんにもご理解いただけることでしょう。
初期の予測では、被災地の復興には7～10年が必要と言われていました。
今日までに100％の水道とガスが復旧し、48％の建造物、38％の堤防が再構築されました。
これらの数字は被災から5年目を迎えようとしている先週、テレビで放送されていたものです。
毎年、多くのレスキュージャパンのサポーターの方々に、私たちの年に一度の支援活動の準備、資金集め、時間的な貢献の援助をいただいています。
本NPOは避難所に支援物資を届ける活動からスタート し、5年に渡り様々な支援活動を続けてまいりました。
私たちのサポーターの方々は、これに加えて、他のチャリティー団体のプロジェクトにも貢献しています。
東京エリアのサポーターコミュニティーはとりわけ重要な存在で、私たちの東北支援活動参加の呼びかけに対し、多くの方々にお応えいただいています。
レスキュージャパンのスタッフ一同を代表して、私たちNPOとその他のチャリティー活動を支援してくださった全ての皆さまに私たちの感謝の気持ちをお伝えします。

Rescue Japan, last year went to Iberaki to host a lunch event to cater to residences who lost the ability to cook during the flooding. We raised funding through the Wine for Charity program, then pulled together our team and setup inside of the disaster area of Joho city. 200 people attended the cook-out making this relief effort a success.
Every year Rescue Japan obligates to a project to help people suffering from natural disasters in Japan. That has been our mission statement from the beginning. It is still our task today.
We do have plans to go into the Tohoku area this year for yet another relief project. After 5 years with so much still to do in Tohoku, people around the world can clearly see how big the disaster of 2011 really was. Early estimates said it would take 7 to 10 years to rebuild in the designated disaster areas. To date 100% water to residence has been restored, 100% gas has been restored, 48% of the buildings have been restored, and 38% of the wet walls protecting from water damage from the sea has been restored. These were the latest figures broadcast on television last week as most of Japan prepares for the 5 year anniversary of this horrible tragedy.
Each year many of our supporters come to our aid in helping us prepare for our annual relief projects, raise funding and contribute time. This NPO started as a relief project to supply evacuation shelters with supplies and has continued to host relief events over the past 5 years. In addition many of our volunteers have helped other charity organizations with their projects. The community of supporters in the Tokyo area have been a tremendous asset to our organization and many of them have come to our call for assistance when we have planned projects and events for Tohoku disaster victims.
On behalf of the Rescue Japan staff, and everyone who helped our NPO and other charities with support, man-power, funding and time, we would like to convey our thanks and our appreciation for without you non of it would be possible.
