UPDATE-071611-A

East Ishinomaki Saturday July 16, 2011:

Our Relief Request Doc indicated to deliver Aid to Ishinomaki, particularly diapers and related Aid for infants.  We were directed to a location in Miyagi-ken, Kurokawa-gun, Ohiramura to pick up bikes that we could add to our delivery in East Ishinomaki.  This was the first stop.

Once we retrieved about 25 bikes (for ages 1 to 10 basically), we proceeded to the Koganehama Community Center, in Ishinomaki. The director was instructed to have kids or their parents there to pick up the bikes as they were being delivered. But they decided at the last minute since we were running a bit late to pass out the bikes the next day (Sunday) during a festival that was scheduled.

So we delivered the items including the bikes, watched a demonstration of what was going to happen at the festival in terms of the presentation while were there.

Delivery:

  • 40 Boxes of Diapers, Pampers and Baby wipes, donated by P&G
  • 40 pairs of Girl’s underwear donated by private doner, along with women’s hygiene items including tampons and shampoo
  • And of course the 35 bikes thanks to Henry Osborn and Hiroki Iguchi
